Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have a roommate ready before move in? No! We place many single students with other students based on the university program in which they are enrolled and our best efforts towards matching for personality. You also have the option to share a suite with your group of friends.

Are suites co-ed? That depends on what you want and what you are comfortable with. You can choose whether you prefer to live in an all female, all male, or co-ed suite.

How soon should I submit my application? Please submit your application early, as we compile our wait list in order of applications received.

How much are utilities? Cable? Internet? All utilities hydro, water, gas, and internet are included in the monthly rental fees.  Internet is wired into every bedroom.  Cable is not included.

How do I access the building, my suite and my bedroom? Upon move-in, you will be given a personalized security key fob that will allow you to swipe open the front and rear access doors of the building. This same fob will provide access to all amenities and your suite. Access to your bedroom is controlled by a digital keypad lock.

How does guest sign in and parking work? Guests may temporarily park with a low fee at a designated space specified by the Property Manager.  You can also register your car with the City of Waterloo for overnight parking  on Regina st.

Can I receive mail at Bridgeport House? Yes. The mail room in each house is located in the lobby. You will receive your mailbox key when you move in.

Will I receive rent receipts for my monthly payments? Yes. Because we are a private student apartment building, you will receive rent receipts for all months that you stay with us. You may use these when filing your income tax returns.

Is there security in the building? Yes. Bridgeport House is equipped with close to 200 high definition cameras. These includes the parking areas, all common areas and the exterior of the buildings. Front desk staff are also on-site daily and will be able to assist you or answer any questions.

What if I need something in my suite fixed? We have a maintenance technician to fix issues related to each unit. Just fill out a service request and our maintenance staff will address the issue. You will be given 24 hours notice of any maintenance issues that require access to your suite.

Are the suites furnished? Yes. The living room comes with 2 couches, a table, and a large flat screen TV. The kitchen is equipped with an energy efficient refrigerator, extra freezer, stove top, microwave and dishwasher. The large island comes with 5 bar stools. The bedrooms come furnished with a double bed, 1 night stand, a study table and a chair.

What deposit do you need? Rez-One requires last months cheque upon signing the lease; and the remaining 11 cheques and key deposit are to be post dated. We offer pre-authorized payment system for greater convenience.
